This marks the Huarong County coal and hot metal combined transport project from construction to operation, Hunan officially opened a new channel of coal transport from north to south.

Huarong County coal hot metal combined transport storage and distribution base project is the implementation of the national "north coal south transport" strategy of concrete practice, is the "14th Five-Year" key construction project in Hunan Province. Relying on the Haoji Railway and the Yangtze River Waterway, the project will form a green, environmentally friendly, safe and efficient coal-to-hot metal transport system from north to south, which will supply coal to Hunan Province and serve enterprises around the Hunan Ziyuan Li River system in Dongting Lake, which has important strategic significance and good development prospects.

The first phase of the completed project is composed of railway special lines, logistics parks and docks, with a total planning area of 2423 acres and a total investment of 3.635 billion yuan. The special railway line starts from Haoji Railway in the west to Songmuqiao Station, the first station in Hunan, and reaches Huarong Port Area in Yueyang Port of the Yangtze River in the east. It is built according to the National Railway Class II standard, with a total length of 29.89 kilometers. The logistics park integrates coal unloading, coal storage, coal blending and shipping. In the first phase, two fully enclosed steel grid structure coal storage sheds are built, with a designed static coal storage capacity of 600,000 tons. The first phase of the terminal has four 3,000-ton coal launching berths with a 5,000-ton structure, a 482-meter-long shoreline and two shipping lines, with an annual coal throughput of 14 million tons.

Since the construction of the project began in 2021, in the face of multiple challenges such as tight schedule, heavy tasks and complex geological conditions, while promoting the construction of the project with high quality, the project side actively expanded the coal trade business, established business exchanges with more than 70 enterprises in Hunan, Hubei, Shaanxi, Jiangxi and other places, and achieved business revenue of more than 5 billion yuan.

At the order meeting, the Huarong County government and Shaanxi Yulin Energy Group successfully signed a contract on the second phase of the hot metal combined transport storage and distribution base project, with a planned investment of 5.2 billion yuan, and intends to build four operating areas along the first phase of the project, including dock platform and land storage yard, railway loading and unloading facilities and cargo storage yard, dock and railway logistics park connection area, and railway yard station area. Hunan Central hot metal combined transport Energy Base Co., Ltd. signed a total amount of 10 billion yuan with Sichuan Lanhai Tianchen Supply Chain Technology Co., LTD., Central China Branch of Guoneng Sales Group Co., LTD., Datang Xiangtan Power Generation Co., LTD., National Energy Group Yueyang Power Generation Co., LTD., Huadian (Hunan) Fuel Co., LTD., Ordos Energy Investment and Development Co., LTD Dollar coal trade orders.
