According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to August 2024, enterprises above designated size produced 3.05 billion tons of raw coal, a year-on-year decrease of 0.3%; in August, 400 million tons of raw coal were produced, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%. 340 million tons of coal were imported from January to August, a year-on-year increase of 11.8%.

According to the statistics of the Statistics and Information Department of China Coal Industry Association, the total raw coal production of the top 10 enterprises was 1.55 billion tons, a year-on-year decrease of 14.92 million tons, accounting for 50.8% of the raw coal production of enterprises above designated size. Specifically: National Energy Group 411.62 million tons, an increase of 2.6%; Jinneng Holding Group 261.67 million tons, a year-on-year decline of 7.8%; Shandong Energy Group 179.88 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.5%; China Coal Group 179.38 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.5%; Shaanxiang Coal Group 168.25 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.5%; Shanxi Coking Coal Group 113.86 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.6%; and Shanxi Coking Coal Group 113.86 million tons. million tons, down 7.6% year-on-year; Huaneng Group 73.01 million tons, up 1.3% year-on-year; Lu'an Chemical Group 60.07 million tons, down 14.2% year-on-year; Guodian Investment Group 52.48 million tons, down 2.6% year-on-year; Henan Energy Group 47.39 million tons, up 4.2% year-on-year.
